Trades Generalist

Trades Generalists perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance repair, installation and construction tasks in the mechanical, building and electrical trades in multiple community residences and other buildings.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
o Performs a variety of carpentry related duties, including but not limited to installations and repairs of flooring, repair and adjustment of doors and hardware, stairs, railings, and replacement of ceiling tile. o Performs locksmith related tasks including repair and installation of lock sets and key cores of various types. Maintains inventory of door hardware and keys. o Performs minor electrical duties including but not limited to replacing receptacles, light fixtures, and circuit breakers. o Repairs, installs and maintains plumbing fixtures and appliances, including but not limited to:
sinks, showers, baths, commodes, domestic water and drainage distribution systems. o Preforms a variety of painting related duties including but not limited to preparing surfaces, priming and painting. o Performs maintenance and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment including but not limited to bathroom exhaust fans, domestic hot water equipment, sump pumps and generators o Requires daily travel within the district. o May require some travel within NY State to assist other districts with special projects. o Other duties as assigned. o Work schedule may vary based on operational need PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
o Working knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the trade or trades to which assigned. o Working knowledge of safety standards and procedures. o Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. o Will be required to train and supervise others. o Candidate will be trained in the operation and maintenance procedures as related to Asbestos Containing Materials. o Will be required to plan and lay out work, develop time and material lists for projects assigned. o Will be required to read and interpret plans, codes, diagrams, architectural blueprints and specifications. o Basic computer skills preferred o Valid NYS driver's License LinkedIn:

Salary Range:
From $47530 to $58016 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Non-Competitive Qualifications o Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled journey-level position, which would provide training that is equivalent to that given in an apprenticeship program. Apprentice training in a trade or training gained by the completion of technical courses in a trade at a school or institute may be substituted for the above experience on a year-for-year basis. Qualifying experience gained through other than a formal apprentice program, in order to be deemed equivalent, must have been carefully designed and monitored work experience demonstrating a progression of skills and abilities equal to that achieved during an apprentice program and include relevant course work. Candidates are required to provide specific, verifiable information about their qualifying experience. This information should be on the letterhead of the employer under whom the qualifying experience was gained and include names and titles of supervisors, duties performed during the training period and specific dates of employment and be signed by that employer. o Candidates qualifying through the completion of appropriate course work should include a copy of their transcript or listing of course work completed. o A copy of a trades union card is acceptable documentary proof of qualification. o Candidates who do not submit appropriate documentary proof that they meet the minimum qualifications will not be considered for appointment. Per agreement between the Civil Service Employees' Association Inc. and the State of New York Article 45 (c) the requirement to prove qualification shall rest with the employee.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
